Frances has a BSc Hons degree in Speech and Language Pathology and has worked both within the NHS and Independent settings in a range of locations including: schools, nurseries, children's centres, Sure start and community clinics.
She has developed a specialised knowledge of fluency disorders (childhood stammering) and is Lidcombe Therapy trained, has experience of Parent Child Interaction Therapy and has accessed courses from the Michael Palin Centre on direct strategies with older children.
Frances has extensive knowledge in early language development as she is a trained Hanen practitioner and has run advanced parent Hanen courses for children that are language delayed as well as courses for nursery/school staff.
Sessions are offered conveniently to parents on a DOMICILIARY BASIS so her sessions are brought to you!!!! This an ideal way to increase the frequency of help your child receives
Frances Ainsworth also offers TRAINING to schools and works collaboratively with educational settings. As an independent SLT Frances has recently participated in the "Give Us a Shout" Project which has offered schools the advice, training in speech and language and coaching to implement group provision.
